Monday 3 December 2012

Come winter and the skin problems start showing up, dry skin and itching being the main culprits.
Whether it's hat hair, dry skin, or rough heels, with winter time come winter woes!
This is the time of year when many people are prone to get 'winter itch,' caused by dry flaky skin. Attractive, i know!
Its important to note that most dry skin is a result of lack of water, not oil.

Here are a few everyday tips you can introduce into your daily routines that will begin to put the moisture back into your skin and you can glow until Christmas and into the cold January days!

1. Drink More Water. It may seem trivial, but water is so good for your entire body, especially your skin. Water acts as a natural remedy to head your way towards achieving beautiful rich glowing skin. Water acts as a body purifier, by removing toxins and waste from your body. People who are fed up with their overweight problem, for them hot lemon water works wonders in fastening their weight loss program. It also keeps your heart healthy.

2. Moisturize Daily. Cream moisturizers are best for normal to dry skin. A moisturizer without perfume or lanolin is best for people with sensitive skin. Always protect your skin from the sun, even in the winter. Winter sun can be as dangerous as summer sun. Use a sunscreen of SPF 15 or greater. Wear a moisturizer with some sunscreen in it to protect your skin.

3.During the deepest phase of sleep, our bodies go into repair mode. So before going to bed, prepare your feet by rubbing them with petroleum jelly and allow your natural body heat to soften and soak the petroleum into your skin. After that, cover them with socks.

4.Oranges, coconut water and guava in the form of juice is an excellent source of rehydrating the skin from within, as they are very rich in vitamins and minerals.Try avoiding packaged juices.Feed your skin wrinkle-fighters. Eat citrus (oranges, tangelos, grapefruit) often. The fruitful bonanza of vitamin C discourages wrinkles because C helps pump up collagen.

5.Use Facial Masks Regularly. Once a week, or when you get a moment, run a long, hot bubble bath, get a good book or magazine, put on a face mask and relax! You can even make your own. Mashed banana or avocado is good. Plain yogurt also works well.Treat Your Face Gently. Never pull, tug, or scrub your facial skin. Be very gentle when you clean it, moisturize it or makeup on it. This will lessen the chance that you'll damage your skin and get wrinkles.
