Sunday 6 January 2013
You take a lot of effort to exfoliate your face, but your body needs attention too. Your body is also prone of getting flaky in winter due to improper exfoliation. So I am sharing some body scrub packs which will be of great help to you.

1. Simple sugar scrub:
Take 1/2cup coconut oil , 2tspoon lavender essential oil. Add some sugar in such a quantity that it is a rough paste so that it can scrub your body. Now just store them in a jar. And use it according to your body need. Just scrub your whole body with this and it will not only exfoliate but also leave your skin smooth.

2.Sweet Almond Body scrub:
Almonds are packed full of nutrients like vitamin E, magnesium, and healthy monounsaturated fats. These compounds make them nourishing to your body inside and out. Try this recipe to exfoliate and moisturize your skin.
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup almond oil
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Mix all ingredients together in a shatter-proof bowl. In the shower or tub, massage the scrub into your skin in circular motions (after washing your skin with soap), concentrating on rough or dry areas of the skin. Rinse with warm water, allowing the residual layer of almond oil to remain on the skin. Pat dry.
 3.Hydrating body scrub:
  • 3 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of almond powder
  • 400ml grape seed oil
  • 200ml sweet almond oil
  • 15 drops of essential rose oil

Method:
Mix the sugar and almond powder with the grape-seed and sweet almond oils, then finish by adding the essential oil. If the oil rises to the top, add a bit of sugar. Massage gently onto damp skin, making small circular movements, from your feet up to your head, then rinse off. Repeat once or twice a  week.

Spoon into a storage container with a tight-fitting lid.
Massage approximately ¼ to ½ cup of scrub onto pre-moistened skin using circular motions. Rinse.

5. Banana body scrub:
Bananas are a natural for body care. Their creamy pulp is luscious and soothing, and works well as a carrier for other ingredients. Banana is nourishing and moisturizing and can be used for gentle exfoliation and skin-tightening.
In this simple formula, bananas and sugar are combined for a wonderfully aromatic and gently exfoliating body scrub.
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar

Mash ingredients together with a fork into a chunky paste. Do not overmix or it will become too watery. If you want a banana scrub for your face, reserve some of the banana and mash it separately without sugar.
In the shower, before turning the water on, slather the sugar mixture and gently massage over your body. For your face, gently massage plain banana there, avoiding the eye area.Rinse off with warm water.
